The Correct Method for Charging Ebike Lithium Batteries

How to charge a Lithium Battery of A Electric Bike ? Different people have different opinions. Is your charging method right or wrong? Do you have any understanding? The correct way to charge a lithium battery is to "shallow discharge and shallow charging". Do not charge it again after the Ebike Battery is depleted, and do not charge it at high or low temperatures. Let's take a closer look below:

E Bike Lithium Battery charging method
1. Shallow discharge and shallow filling
When charging a Lithium Battery, it is recommended to use a "shallow discharge and shallow charging" method, which means that the charging and discharging should not reach the maximum capacity of the battery by 100%. The charging goal is to "not fully charge, not fully discharge".
In theory, when the battery capacity of a Lithium Battery is between 10% -90%, it can be used normally and fully charged. The number of charges is not directly related to the lifespan of the Lithium Battery, so adhering to the principle of "shallow discharge and shallow charging" is the most ideal way to charge.
2. How to charge a new Lithium Battery
For the charging method of new batteries, there is no saying that "the first charge must be fully charged for 18 hours". This operation does not leave the battery charger in an active state, but may cause damage to the battery.
For Lithium Battery chargers, overcharging can only cause incalculable damage to the battery charger, so it is sufficient to charge newly purchased Lithium Batteries using the usual charging method.
3. How to use a Lithium Battery charger
Lithium Batteries have a lifespan of nearly 500 cycles, and charging more battery with a charger during their lifespan does not cause significant damage to the charger itself.
So, the charger has little to do with the number of charges, and using a "shallow discharge and shallow charging" charging method has no serious harmful impact on the charger.
4. Precautions
(1) Do not charge at high temperatures
When the ambient temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius, charging the device can cause significant damage to the battery. Even storing the battery in a high-temperature environment can cause a certain degree of damage to the quality of the battery. Therefore, not charging Lithium Batteries in high-temperature environments can help extend the battery's lifespan.
(2) Cannot charge at low temperatures
Using Lithium Batteries in ultra-low temperature environments (4 degrees Celsius) can shorten the battery's lifespan. Some lithium batteries cannot be charged in low temperature environments due to preset protection functions.

Totally Speaking: The lifespan of Lithium Batteries is generally 300-500 charging cycles. During this cycle, adhere to the charging principle of "shallow discharge and shallow charging", and do not charge at high or low temperatures. By mastering the correct charging method, Lithium Batteries can be used for a longer time.
